Unlike many areas of the country, Monroe County has more than enough water to satisfy current and future needs. Our water source, Lake Ontario, and the other Great Lakes contain 20% of the world’s fresh water!

Elected Officials Attend MCWA Roundtable

Monroe County Water Authority hosted a roundtable event on January 10, 2025 to discuss funding barriers with local elected officials. Keeping water rates affordable is a priority for MCWA. In order to maintain affordable rates while balancing resources to comply with ever-changing federal and state regulations, while also financing capital improvement projects, we must consistently seek funding opportunities. Water authorities across the state and country also share these funding challenges. The leads of Onondaga County Water Authority and Erie County Water Authority joined us for the event, held at our Webster Water Treatment Plant.
